We often tell our clients and potential client base the difference between UKAS accredited Certification and non accredited Certification. We regularly get Organisations coming to us who thought they had achieved ISO certification, to find their new (non-Accredited) certification has been rejected by a client during the tendering process. While the low cost of obtaining non-UKAS ISO certification may seem tempting to some businesses, they may soon discover the certification is not suitable. Also, the longer contractual tie in periods…. many non UKAS organisations are putting 10 year contracts in place, whereas a UKAS accredited Certification Body has to allow you to move to another organisation.
