Course Objectives
To enable participants to lead an audit team and/or carry out external audits on third parties or suppliers. This will be achieved by developing skills to effectively plan, perform, and report the results of first, second and third-party quality audits to develop and improve the maturity level of the Quality Management System (QMS) to increase the value to the Organisation.

This five-day Lead Auditor Training course is delivered via a mixture of presentations & group exercises. The course will cover the following areas.
- The history and overview of the ISO 9001 standard
- Understand the purpose of QMS, the Plan-Do-Check-Act Cycle and 7 Management Principles
- The key clauses and requirements of ISO 9001
- The process model approach and the QMS
- The benefits of utilising QMS and how it will affect the company
- Quality Management System levels of maturity
- Applying the process approach and risk-based thinking to audit planning
- Required attributes of an auditor and lead auditor and their roles and responsibilities
- Quality Management System maintenance issues
- Planning, preparing, conducting, reporting, and following up internal audits, following ISO 19011
- Report on the effective implementation and maintenance of the quality management system following ISO 19011
