Course Objectives
To enable participants to lead an audit team and/or carry out external audits on third parties or suppliers. This will be achieved by developing skills to effectively plan, perform, and report the results of first, second and third-party quality audits to develop and improve the maturity level of the Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OH&SMS) to increase the value of the Organisation.
Course Content
This five-day Lead Auditor Training course is delivered via a mixture of presentations & group exercises. The course will cover the following areas.
- The history and overview of the ISO 45001 standard
- The purpose of the Occupational Health & Safety Management System
- ISO 45001 requirements and how to describe OH&S hazards.
- Plan-Do-Check-Act methodology and other fundamental management principles.
- The principles and methods of performing process-based audits against ISO 45001
- Required attributes of an auditor and lead auditor and their roles and responsibilities
- Occupational Health & Safety Management System implementation issues
- Planning, preparing, conducting, reporting and following up internal audits, following ISO 19011
- Report on the effective implementation and maintenance of the OH&SMS following ISO 19011.

This course will cover Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems awareness which will build participants’ knowledge of understanding the purpose and requirements of OH&SMS. It will also cover ISO 45001:2018 Internal Auditor which will enable participants to plan, perform, and report the results of internal audits to develop and improve the Occupational Health & Safety Management System of an Organisation.
