Course Objectives
To enable participants to plan, perform and report the results of internal Environmental audits to develop and improve the Environmental Management System (EMS) of an Organisation. To help participants understand the key attributes of an efficient and effective EMS and the role of the internal auditor in its continual improvement and development.
Course Content
This two-day Internal Auditor Training course is delivered via a mixture of presentations & group exercises. The course will cover the following areas;
- The purpose of Environmental Management Systems
- ISO 14001 requirements
- Plan-Do-Check-Act methodology and other fundamental management principles
- The roles and responsibilities of internal auditors and their attributes
- The principles and methods of performing process-based audits against ISO 14001
- Environmental Management System implementation issues
- Planning, preparing, conducting, reporting and following up internal audits, following ISO 19011
- Report on the effective implementation and maintenance of the environmental management system following ISO 19011.

ISO 14001:2015 Internal Auditor course is ideal for any member of staff who looks to be part of the organisation’s audit team or has environmental responsibilities and would benefit from an awareness of the audit process.
To gain maximum benefit from this course attendees should be familiar with the content and structure of the standard. This may be evidenced through relevant experience or through having previously completed an Environmental Management Systems Foundation Course.
